Voting in the Halton District School Board trustee race for Oakville Wards 5 and 7.
Monday, October 26, 2026 · 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
Advance voting: October 7–10 and October 13–18
Oakville Town Hall is open for advance voting every one of those days. Six community centres, including one in Ward 5 and one in Ward 7, open on October 10, 14 and 17.
You can if you are a Canadian citizen, at least 18 years old on voting day, and you live in Oakville Ward 5 or Ward 7 — or you own or rent property there. To get a Halton District School Board ballot you also need to be registered as an English-public school supporter, which is the default unless you have changed it.
Boundaries are approximate. Use the Town's interactive map to check your address.

Other ways to vote
If you can’t get to a voting place, or need help once you are there, the Town offers the options below. Questions about any of them go to the Town of Oakville elections office.
If a medical condition or mobility limitation stops you from getting to a voting place, you can ask the Town for a home visit so you can vote at home. Register by October 18, 2026, and contact the Town as early as you can to book the visit.
The Town holds voting inside long-term care homes and retirement homes and sends the details to each home’s administration. Residents and their families can ask the home’s staff when voting will take place there.
Curbside voting
If you can’t go inside a voting location, an election official can bring your ballot to your vehicle, to a spot outside the building, or to another area of the location. A friend or support person can go inside and tell the election officials, or you can call the elections office and staff will contact the voting place for you.
Post-secondary students who live away from home while at school may be able to vote both where they live for school and in the place they consider their permanent home, as long as they meet the voter eligibility rules in each. Accepted ID includes a campus residence document from your school, a mortgage statement, lease or rental agreement for an Ontario property, or an insurance policy or statement showing your name and address. Students who will be away on voting day can also appoint a proxy.
Vote by proxy
If you can’t vote yourself, you can appoint someone who is eligible to vote in Oakville to cast your ballot for you. Students at college or university outside Oakville can also appoint a proxy. Your proxy can still cast their own ballot. A person can be a proxy for only one voter, unless the voters they act for are all members of their own family.
You and your proxy both fill in the Appointment for Voting Proxy (Form 3).
Your proxy takes the form to Oakville Town Hall, 1225 Trafalgar Road, and shows their own ID so the Clerk can certify it. This is done during business hours, and an appointment is recommended.
During advance voting, forms can also be certified at Town Hall from noon to 5 p.m. on October 7–10, and from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on October 13–18.
Your proxy then votes during advance voting or on voting day, bringing the original certified form and their own ID.
The last chance to appoint a proxy is 4:30 p.m. on voting day, Monday, October 26.
